Paris, 9 June 2008
CECA, an ARKEMA Group subsidiary, has been left with no option but to announce increases in its sales prices for Activated Carbon, Diatomaceous Earth & Perlite, effective 1st July 2008,
· of up to 15%,
· much higher still for specific product ranges.
" These price rises have been brought on by the drastic increases in the cost of energy, explains Anne Hirsch, Director Activated Carbon, Filter Aid and Functional Minerals at CECA. The manufacturing processes for these products are based on highly energy-intensive drying, calcination and activation techniques. CECA's ongoing efforts to save energy no longer enables us to absorb these additional costs "
These price increases are being implemented worldwide and will apply to the following product ranges:
· Acticarbone®, Anticromos® Activated Carbon,
· Clarcel® Diatomite and Perlite.
