" Formulation for Green Roads ". Success for CECA's warm bitumen mix additive in Europe.
CECA passes the 300,000 tonne mark for warm asphalt mix produced with its CECABASE RT® in 2007

Today, CECA's Bitumen Additives team attended a road construction site run by the company BRAJA VESIGNE in the municipality of PIOLENC (84). With this site, CECA, a subsidiary of the ARKEMA Group, passes the 300,000 tonne mark for road bitumen mix laid in Europe in 2007 with its CECABASE RT® additive.
" 80,000 tonnes of warm bitumen mix prepared with CECA's " green " additive were laid in 2006 in Europe - Our customers producing warm bitumen mix trust our formulation for green roads " stated Guillaume LEGOUIS, head of CECA's Bitumen Additive business. " Today our additive has been used to produce over 300,000 tonnes on many sites in Europe ".
According to Gilles BARRETO, R&D Manager at the Company's Rhône Alpes Research Centre: " CECABASE® RT has become an emblematic example of our performance chemicals: a tiny amount of product completely alters the performance of the system. The effect is almost like magic: the discrepancy between the very small amount of product used and the major drop in temperature is a surprise to our customers, and what's more there is no need to modify the process ".
