4th Eurasphalt & Eurobitume International Congress : CECA will present its latest innovations for the road industry.

This major international scientific congress (over 850 delegates and exhibitors) is being held at the Copenhagen Bella Centre from 21 to 23 May 2008. At this 2008 edition, the CECA Bitumen Additives team will showcase the Company's latest innovative solutions for the road industry.

Gilles BARRETO will present the results of studies carried out by the Rhône Alpes Research Centre: Warm mix asphalt with chemical additives: industrial trials and laboratory studies. " We are delighted to be presenting original results at this scientific congress, explains Gilles BARRETO, Head of R&D, especially as these results are being corroborated by promising statistics in the field. 300,000 tonnes of warm mix asphalt were produced in Europe in 2007 with CECABASE RT. We now have plenty of experience with this technology both in the laboratory and in the field ".

On its stand (E054) CECA will set out the issues and challenges of supramolecular chemistry for the bitumen industry: supramolecular polymers. High modulus bitumen for heavy-traffic roads with polymer additives of vegetable origin applied at 140°C instead of 180°C, is now possible thanks to supramolecular chemistry, a promising concept offering major potential improvements for the bitumen industry. CECA, a subsidiary of the Arkema Group, partners this research into supramolecular chemistry applied to polymers, and is one of the first manufacturers to be soon offering a " supramolecular " polymer developed from this chemistry.
