Paris, 6 June 2008
CECA continues to experience unprecedented increases in the cost of raw materials, energy, transport and packaging. Consequently, CECA, an ARKEMA Group subsidiary, has been left with no option but to announce increases of around 150 Euros per tonne in the sales prices of its Specialty Surfactants, effective 1st July 2008.
" For a number of years now we have been implementing action plans to improve productivity and reduce costs, explains Luc Meurin, Director Specialty Surfactants at CECA. However, these increases in the price of our Specialty Surfactants have become absolutely necessary in response to the major surge in the combined cost of energy, packaging, raw materials and transport. "
These price increases are being implemented worldwide across every market segment.
